Areas mainly addressed: Healthcare, Ethical, Legal, Social, Economic implications of robotics, Autonomy, Collaborative Robots and cloud robotics, Regulation and Standardization for Robotics and AI
Main questions to be answered:
· What can we learn from Scandinavian frontrunners about which type of guidance or activities are necessary for successful robotic implementation in clinical settings?
WS Description: This workshop addresses the clinical perspective of transferring technological innovation to boost alignment of end-user needs. Analysing the barriers for clinical implementation robotic solution shows that technology pull from the clinics is essential and specialized support for deployment is needed. This workshop gives an overview of how Scandinavian frontrunners embed robotics in healthcare applications focusing on sharing experiences related to combining clinical needs with research, Hospital Automation, and Telemedicine. A clinical visit will be organized within this context. Consequently, it will be discussed what this means for large scale adoption of new robotic technology at European scale. The output of the workshop includes specific guidance and activities necessary to succeed in robotic implementation based on regional experience.
Intended outcome: Workshop on recent developments in technology or applications, Workshop expected to create a roadmap or white paper, Workshops engaging non-roboticists to understand needs/goals (policy, commercial, technical)
Approach: Agenda addressing:
• Introduction
• Scandinavian viewpoint
How a clinical robotics center in the region of Odense combines the needs of clinicians at the hospital with research at the university with examples of robotic solutions developed or under development.
• Frontrunners
– Hospital Automation –how a consortium of robotic and healthcare stakeholders in the Odense area is working on getting more tasks at hospitals automated in a collaboration between hospitals and the robot industry.
– Telemedicine – where OUH is doing a great job to increase the use. How telemedicine is advanced by the introduction of robotics in the region
• Robot installation hospital
• Award winning demonstration
