TRINITY DIH

What are the questions to be discussed and answered in the WS?

What is CyberSecurity in Robotics?

What are the major developments impacting CyberSecurity in Robotics?

What do you need to do to increase maturity in your CyberSecurity operations?

Description: The CyberSecurity in robotics market is expected to register 11.0% CAGR between 2022 and 2029,up from 8.4% CAGR recorded during 2014-2021, according to market research reports. However, there is a general market gap in solutions and services, technologies and capabilities serving the robotics domain. During this workshop, the CyberSecurity challenge for robotics that was presented during the previous years at ERF will put into the perspective of 2023 and up and coming years. Following the research done during the TRINITY-project, the limitation is a false sense of security CyberSecurity solutions specialists will provide insights in their developments, indicating gaps and challenges and opportunities for further fundamental and applied research. We will be discussing the widespread industrial robots globally, indicating where existing technologies cybersecurity can provide improvements.

Intended outcome

Information about community involvement and services offered (e.g. DIHs, open calls, platforms, …), Workshop discussion topics of common interest, success stories, use cases, etc, Workshop covering material new to ERF that the Robotics community should engage with, Workshop on recent developments in technology or applications, Workshops engaging non-roboticists to understand needs/goals (policy, commercial, technical)

Approach and Agenda

During the session, an in depth 10-15 minute perspective of all speakers will be followed by a 30-45 min panel discussion on the following topics. CyberSecuring robotic systems, how hard can it be? Robot customers are not asking for CyberSecurity. Aren they? Is it sufficient to ensure OT-cybersecurity in order to achieve Robot CyberSecurity. What are the gaps in the current industry and research and how to resolve them? Audience will be suggested to ask questions and concerns, to indicate their Robotics Setup and gather how they can better secure the situation, developers to see how they can engineer cybersecurity. We will ask the audience how they would cope with specific challenges, and provide some roads forward.
